Look to the heavens and you’ll see Ursa Major, the Great Mother Bear. In Ancient times, all the way back to the Mesolithic Stone Age, tribes all across the northern hemisphere practiced bear ceremonialism and believed that humans and bears shared a common ancestry.
Here I present to you, the great mother, a pendant for women’s (or men, its a two way road after all) fertility. The shaman-esque bear features the Elder Futhark Rune, Berkano, which symbolizes womens fertility, birth and the womb.
Handcrafted in 2 layers of solid fine silver with a blackened finish and rests on an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
Ironically, during the design and making of this original prototype piece, I myself became pregnant after trying for years. I’m not saying it was the pendant, but hey! 🙂
